PREP Post-Baccalaureate

Nemya McGill-Veloso is an NIH-PREP post-baccalaureate scholar at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she will be intensively engaged in research and applying to PhD programs this cycle. She is a research assistant in the FAMH Lab, and her current area of research studies how racial identity, parenting, and parenting stress factors in black mothers of children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Nemya anticipates earning her PhD in clinical or counseling psychology, where she can research how exposure to counseling during adolescence aids in new adulthood development and interpersonal relationships.
